We always welcome strong Ph.D. applicants.
Our goal is to endow assistive technologies with the capacity to substitute, recover, empower, or augment human abilities. Towards that, candidates will work on cutting-edge technologies.
The candidates from both technical and non-technical backgrounds are welcomed. We encourage students to take courses in one or more of the following areas: HCI, AI, Accessibility, and Computer Systems. Prior experience working with human subjects is not required but will be considered a plus. Ph.D. students will have the opportunity to generate their own research agenda.
If you are interested, please email me at sbillah@psu.edu. State briefly why you are interested, and attach a CV. Important: please insert “PhD Position” in the subject line.
We have several open projects as well. If you are at Penn State looking for a Master’s project or Undergraduate capstone project, do not hesitate to shoot me an email. We will find a project that best suits your interest and background.
We are always in need of study participants. If you are a person with a disability who would like to participate in our user studies, please drop me an email stating your condition, availability, and location. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
